The invention of the Pull Out Mirror for closets is one of the best-kept secrets in the closet industry. I know lots of people have full-length mirrors, but they are almost always fixed to a wall.  The Pull-Out Mirror with full extension slides is a better option.

Seeing is believing

Truth is, a full-length mirror is a must have for any closet, dressing area, or mud room in a home. The common practice has been to install a fixed, full-length mirror on a wall or the back of a door. I say that there cannot be a bigger waste of space than this application when designing a custom storage solution.

Reality of the reflection

We’re lucky to have 2 walk - in closets in our home and both are fitted with mirrors. We really wanted a full-length mirror in our closets, but space was at a premium. The reality was and is, a full-length mirror is only actually in use 5% of the time! Otherwise it sits unused and when mounted on a wall this eats up valuable storage space. The solution: The Pull Out Mirror!

Lets look at the real estate

A full-length mirror typically measures 14” x 48” which is more than 4 ½ sq ft! If you have a closet that measures 4’ x 6', or 24 sq ft, does it make sense to allocate 20% of the wall space for a stationary mirror? Of course not. That wall space is much better used for a hanging section, shoe storage, or a custom jewelry solution.

Put it in the closet where it belongs

A Pull Out Mirror by contrast measures exactly the same, but because it is mounted to a vertical panel and with full extension ball bearing slides, takes up only 3” of hanging space. Many designers put a mirror in a long hang section so that this area of the closet has multiple uses. Another great application is on an end panel that normally would go unused.

Now you can match hardware in your design since mirrors come in several color options. The elegance that is reflected in the thin design and fine lines of the mirror frame make it the perfect finishing touch for any closet design.
